Incidentally, they WILL NOT stop sending me emails pimping out Downsizing (everything from extra screenings, to making sure the link they sent me to watch it worked, to images from another cast/crew screening, etc.)...each one is truly more salt in the wound for me LOL

Downsizing is DOA except in the Best Supporting Actress category. I agree with the feelings expressed about the studio. They did everything to promote J-Law and absolutely nothing to push Michelle in the Oscar sweepstakes.

Lol That pic of her on the back of the blu ray IS stunning tho

I expected this to be funnier :-( And much like the film itself, it doesn't have nearly enough Pfeiffer.

Got the book "Mother! The Making of the Fever Dream" which I pre-ordered several months ago, probably before I watch the movie in cinema, I wish I had read the description carefully (didn't think there's one earlier on) and cancel the pre-order in time...anyway, just want to say if you want to get this book becuase of Pfeiffer, PLEASE DON'T, as the whole book is only about the second half of the movie, which means, there's not even a single picture or details of Michelle's character.

From The Washington Post, dated March 1, Written by Kristen-Page Kirby.
When We Look Back At The 2018 Oscars, Who Will We Think Was Robbed?
Best supporting actress 2018’s predicted winner: Allison Janney, “I, Tonya” 2028’s hindsight winner: Michelle Pfeiffer, “mother!” Darren Aronofsky’s bizarre biblical metaphor “mother!” was divisive. To say the least. Pfeiffer, though, was rightfully celebrated for her role as … actually, better not to say. She was funny and terrifying, often at the same time, and whenever she fixed her steely gaze on Jennifer Lawrence, you could feel the skill and power behind it. The film didn’t get any nominations, but “mother!” will be part of the cinematic dialogue for years (I just think we need some space from it), and Pfeiffer’s performance will be at the center of the conversation.

It's a bit...weird to make a book about your own film, and to only deal with half of it and ignore the rest, Lol. I guess I get it since the second half is the craziest, but come on. I'm kind of over Aronofsky.

Kidman won for only 0.6%. What a joke! At least, Michelle and mother! were considered and acknowledged.

So I've only just sat and watched this and it wasn't really for me. I only wanted to see it for Michelle and I thought she was very good but I felt like I had already seen all her scenes from all the clips shown and I wanted more. I can understand why she wasn't nominated as it wasn't really meaty enough. If Michelle and Ed had stuck around in the 2nd half it could of been much better. I love that she took on this film and got to work with someone like Aronofsky but I just wanted more.

I really enjoyed the film, and felt like it was a great film and role for Michelle. Michelle would benefit greatly if she stick to these risky projects. This film is going down as of the greats next to a clockwork Orange, well at least for me.
