Yeah... it's pretty rough. I don't think this will happen BUT: There would be enough fan-interest in another Keaton-led Batman project. But this one would have to feature Pfeiffer and it would have to be a story worth telling. A story that actually says something about the character and where Keaton's Bruce is at in his life. It would need to be: - Steeped in the Burton aesthetic. - Target the older demographic and appeals to their interests. - Be a limited series event. No more movies. - I'm thinking 6 episodes with Burton as a producer only. - Create a story that means Batman and Catwoman need to suit up one last time to deal with a big scale mob issue (or whatever). One final adventure to send Keaton and Pfeiffer off into the sunset. OR Pivot entirely and do a version of Catwoman: Lonely City as a miniseries, with Keaton playing a supporting role. The ELSEWORLDS brand is there for a reason.

On a trip with her sister's now and said on Instagram her latest Sephora/Henry Rose post will be her last in a while. Hopefully ready to get back to her other job now.

Yea, she’s gonna have more free time now that the Sephora partnership has launched.

I doubt she would want to ''go out'' with 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania'.
And I know you're joking, but I can definitely see Pfeiffer packing it in sooner rather than later. Her passion lies elsewhere these days.

This belongs in a What Wasn't thread but it says Pfeiffer was a top choice to guest star on The Bear, a role that went to Jamie Lee. movieweb.com/the-bear-jlc-role-almost-another-person/“Jamie Lee was on the list from the beginning,” as Bacharach explains. “But it was during the whole lead-up to the Oscars, and it was sort of like, Yeah, yeah, sure. Let’s keep talking about Jamie Lee, but, like, come on — she’s going to win an Oscar.” Bacharach then reveals that Michelle Pfeiffer, was also up for the role of Donna. Pfeiffer is a three-time Oscar nominee, having been nominated for the films Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys, and Love Field. She was also quite interested in taking the role as a fan of The Bear, but in her case, it just wasn't possible because of scheduling. That led to Pfeiffer turning down the role. "[She] was a huge fan of the show and really, really considered it,” Bacharach says. “We went back and forth and back and forth, and ultimately her schedule didn’t allow for it.”

Interesting. I haven’t seen the show but I know it’s popular. I love that she’s still considering stuff and willing to act if it fits into her schedule. Part of me was scared she was just flat out not reading stuff

What's worse is it would have been Michelle's personal schedule which wouldn't have allowed this as she hasn't filmed anything in 2 years and did next to no promotion for Ant Man.

Yea, I’m sure it’s her own personal schedule as well. She just had the Sephora launch and Henry Rose is releasing their new body wash this week so I’m sure she’s been working on both for months now

Yeah. How much time would this role have required of her? A few days max, I would think. I don't get it.

I am serious...I am MAD. What a stupid decision...again! When will she learn?? I know it's a tiny cameo basically but it's a juicy role on a VERY popular show. WTF are you doing?!?!

I just can't get it out of my head that she chose perfume and going on little lifestyle podcasts over a JUICY role on a popular series. This is what some of us were worried about when she launched her fragrance line. As Michael said this role could not have taken more than 3 or 4 days to film. It's just mind boggling, she makes it super hard to root for her sometimes.

Michelle really does make it hard for us to root for her sometimes. I'm still pissed that we're on another career hiatus of nearly 2 years while she focuses on Henry Rose.
Again, this would hardly have taken up that much of her time and seems a lot of actors were offering their services to star in The Bear but of course not our Michelle.

Can we all stop complaining about studios/casting directors ''overlooking'' Michelle at this stage? The truth of the matter is the industry still very much wants to work with her. The truth is she is being offered interesting scripts/roles. The truth is younger producers/writers have fond memories of her work (just like us) and want to help bring her to a new audience.
The problem is Michelle. She isn't interested.
Michelle owes us or the industry NOTHING and fair play to her if she is following her passion for sniffing scents. She seems to be really good at it and I'm sure it feels like a fresh new, tangible challenge at this stage of her life, as opposed to feeling unfulfilled standing in front of a green screen proclaiming she ''had needs''. Although I'm sure the cheque was good.
I'll always be a Pfan. I'll always love her body of work. But I'm not interested in perfume or how you can mix one fragrance with another to remind you of your Grandfather's house when you were a child. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it's true. She put up a story of some podcast interview recently and I didn't even click on it. We all keep waiting for this daring, bold and determined actress to manifest that will jump at every opportunity no matter how challenging. With a few exceptions, all the roles Pfeiffer has taken in the last 15 years she could practically do in her sleep.
We need to stop complaining and lamenting how other actresses 50+ are working steadily and receiving a bunch of accolades. They are working for it and they WANT it. I honestly think Michelle lost her real hunger a long time ago.

Does she not realize that a really buzzed about cameo role on a loved tv series might have gotten more exposure for her little fragrance line too? I mean what the hell, where is her agent and her husband with good advice???

Her passion lies elsewhere these days. Well as a matter of fact I wasn' t really joking. It's obvious that she has no hurry to do a movie again. I hope I'm wrong but if so, than so be it. There are some great young up-coming actresses. Who could be her successor? I for instance am very impressed with Anya Taylor-Joy and Florence Pugh.

Pfeiffer-Phan, you make some great points. I agree logically with everything you wrote. I wish my heart would cooperate.
I tend to invest emotionally in artists whose work speaks to my soul. I am particularly prone to rooting for actors who triumph over typecasting and stereotypes. Time and time again in the first half of her film career, Michelle defied expectations and brought far more to the table than most expected. There was something about her fierceness that struck a chord with me. The glamour too, the majestic beauty. God, the camera loves her. I also loved the way she held back. She understood the allure and power of mystery. Many times over the years, I've wished I could latch onto a more active and risk -taking actress, but alas, I cannot. While I admire the work of many of her peers and younger, similarly talented actresses, no one touches Michelle.
And I concede 100% to Pfeiffer-Phan's point - she owes us and the industry nothing. She's given us so much already, but that will not stop me from wanting more.

I agree with Michael. She owes us nothing. If there’s any dissatisfaction where her career is at or the choices she’s making (or not making), it lies with us. Her career is (and always has been, perhaps) exactly where she wants it to be.

I don't think any of us thinks she owes us anything lol. Of course not. If she can live with these decisions, so be it, but that doesn't mean I have to accept it or like it. I became a fan of hers because she is a world class actor, if she makes what I think are stupid or questionable decisions, I will def. say so. I could not care less about perfume or body spray or candles.

I'm happy Michelle has had a success with Henry Rose but I too am not fussed for perfumes, body sprays etc. Most of her Henry Rose posts are her least liked or commentated posts on Instagram unless it's a video of her out and about promoting.
Michelle does owe us nothing but I'll never stop being a pfan. It would just be great if she had found a 50/50 balance between her 2 passions as we know Michelle isn't done yet with her acting and has said she feels her best performance is still in her.

Yea, I agree. I wish she could find a balance between the two worlds. It’s clear to me that she’s passionate about both of them, albeit at different levels. And since neither work on specific timelines (the time it takes to formulate a new fragrance/product can be as unpredictable as the time it takes for a French Exit/Four o’clock type of project to go into production). Ideally, I would’ve hoped that we would’ve gotten a project a year. The triple combo of Maleficent, French Exit and First Lady signaled to me that we might’ve. But, a changing industry and her very specific tastes are what they are. As always, we’re just gonna be slaves to whatever her instincts are.
Btw, I’m wondering if she’ll say anything about the upcoming strike. I doubt we’ll get ANY new project news now cuz of it, sadly

If she didn't say anything about the writer's strike, when her husband is a writer, I doubt she'll say anything about an actor's strike. Maybe David was against the strike?
