Toni Collette got the mother role in Netflix's Pieces of Her. Thought they might of gone older for the Mother role as the daughter is 30 and Toni is only 47. I find it kinda weird that Toni Collette has played the mother character so many times for actors who aren't even young enough to be her children

Anyone else find it weird that Pfeiffer was on the "hot, must cast" list for TV creators and producers just a couple years ago, and now I guess she's not? What happened to that? Lol Or maybe they are just offering her crap that she isn't into? I'm just surprised she hasn't done another HBO film or a limited series.
On another note, there is a new Agatha Christie adaptation in the works for the big screen, maybe there could be a role for her in that?

Yes, she could play Emily Caroline Brent who is supposed to be 65 in "And Then There Were None". But I'm not sure she'd want to do another Agatha Christie adaptation.
They're also making a movie about Lilly Ledbetter, in fact Meryl Streep is backing the movie so I imagine she will also star in it, but if they decide to focus on Ledbetter's time at Goodyear then they'll need someone younger than Meryl.
And it looks like they're starting pre-production on "Wicked", apparently they just hired a production designer. But I think the Madame Morrible part will also go to Streep.

Damn Streep. Retire already.

l See DeDee Pfeiffer has been cast in David's new show The Big Sky. Throwing his unemployed sister-in-law a bone, nice of him. I read she had quit acting and was going to school to become something else. Guess that didn't work out. On another note, there is a Knives Out sequel in the works, but the director already said he wants Laura Dern (yawn, she's very good but way over hyped) for a role. There's probably only room for one older blonde actress.

Yeah I don't get the hype with Laura Dern either. I like her but think she's overhyped.
The role of the ex cop in David's new show was has been rewritten for a woman in the series. Still doubt it's for Michelle as they obviously don't want to work together and can't see Michelle wanting to do broadcast tv.

I don't really want to see her on a network show anyway, they're usually pretty bad these days and not many people watch them anymore.

Yeah, I had forgotten about this. I remember that video of him treating Lily Tomlin like shit on the set of I Heart Huckabees, and he also made Amy Adams cry while filming American Hustle.

That would be interesting. In other news, Naomi Watts has followed Julianne Moore in leaving CAA for WME. She has been in flop after flop, so I'm not surprised, but I wonder if something else is going on at CAA.

Not sure if Turn of Mind is happening or not but I'm ready for another announcement soon. Hope she signs on to something soon.

I think the most interesting project out there right now is Damien Chazelle's "Babylon", I really hope Michelle gets the part of the "eccentric" woman

I wonder if the candle, body wash, lotion line is taking up Michelle’s time right now and that’s why she’s not working on any projects...??

Maybe yeah, but she did film a lot of projects in recent years while they were working on her fragrances, so it probably doesn't have too much affect on her schedule. She can probably do a lot of the work on that over Skype, e-mail, etc.

True. Something must have stalled with Turn of Mind but not enough to make her give up the project, which could be why neither her nor Bening have signed on to anything else lately.

I've read that apparently Nicole Kidman might have to drop out of "The Northman" due to a scheduling conflict (with two of her 3642 projects)
If that is true then I really hope Michelle gets the part, she's the right age to play the mother of Alexander Skarsgard's character in 10th century Iceland

I wouldn't mind this. Arnon Milchan is producing this. He worked with Michelle on Midsummer Night's Dream. I like Robert Eggers' movie The Lighthouse so I wouldn't be upset if she took this on.

Surprisingly, casting news is still being announced for some projects. No telling when these will actually start filming, but maybe we'll still get some news during this crisis after all.

Is Spielberg still running or at least a part of Amblin? Maybe he'll push for her. Also, Margot Robbie could play the younger version of the woman and Pfeiffer the older!

I think Spielberg is still in charge of Amblin. Who knows when Hollywood will get back to normal and productions start up again, could be months. I don't think we'll see Michelle film anything this year.
