This looks so raw and horrifying...yes!! This is what I was hoping for...BUT I really hope Michelle's is name on the marketing above the title n if she must be last, I hope they put an "and" before her name

Does it signify her role is important or that her presence is special? It's sorta like the runtime to me. If it had come in at 85 or 90 minutes, I would have been bummed. That length seems right for a comedy, but not for a psychological thriller or a drama. It's weird but I notice these things about the upfront marketing.

Pfeiffer looked almost possessed in that one shot of her, Lol. Pfeiffer playing an evil-ish, religious hypocrite??? Bring it on. I wonder if this is more straight-up horror? The official site says "psychological thriller" but it looks more than that. Was that Bardem walking into the fire?? There were a number of folks behind him in that one shot in what looks to be a basement. I hope Pfeiffer's role isn't too small. If we have to endure a Lawrence film and performance, it better be worth it!

It's weird for me too...for me, the "and" is a status thing, kind of like: "save the best for last"...shows her presence is enough of a significant contribution to the movie that it can't just be inserted or tacked on like a last minute item on a grocery list...i dunno, like I said, I'm weird...n overworked too, so pay no attention to me lol

I don't think it will be too small...apart from Lawrence and Bardem, she's the only other actor who is featured clearly in the trailer. Harris is shrouded n that person at 0:25/0:26 could be Gleeson...I guess?? Maybe that mans something

Also, this looks like more of a commercial play than an awards vehicle, and I'm okay with it, nothing wrong with it, but I'd love to see Pfeiffer back in the race some day. Hopefully soon.

Bardem sounds sinister but that's what he does best.
I would say he lured them to the house with the intention of using Harris / Pfeiffer to become famous, maybe, sacrificing Lawrence and the unborn baby in return.
Yes - Pfeiffer looks distraught here - not sure about the context tho.
I need to step away from the trailer - it's possessing me. LOL

Yep that fits with the decision to open in Sept and focus on the horror / thriller aspects - could be more of a strong genre film than awards bait.

I think they only changed to September after Aronofsky decided to do festivals, though. Someone said that Paramount did not want to do festivals at first, only because they didn't want spoilers out there for a whole month before the old October release date. Or maybe that's just a cover, who knows.

I'm loving how stripped down n un-hollywood the film looks visually. The raw look of it adds to the intensity I feel...there's nothin glamorous or pretty bout the way anyone or anything looks in it...n yet, in its own way, that gives the film a natural beauty. Cannot wait!!

Honestly, I still think this is going to be an awards film if it becomes a hit and gets good reviews. And based on that teaser, this looks like it's going to be a hit. Also, almost all Oscar contenders nowadys are shown first in festivals, so that bodes well for this film as well. They would not submit this to festivals if they're only banking on the box-office.

Well, there have been absolute duds that have gone to two or all three major fall festivals(TIFF+TELLURIDE+VENICE), though, so ya never really know. Acting categories are the best bet if it is a hit with critics. BTW, was that a dead locust in the teaser? Religion plays a huge part here, it seems.

Great teaser! For me that's enough, I'll pass on the official trailer. Much chance that they will show too much. It's much appreciated if you would use the spoiler alert!

I'm not sure they will show much in terms of spoilers in the trailer, given how much secrecy there has been. I'm actually surprised they decided to do festivals and didn't just keep the October release date to help build even more suspense and intrigue.

I'm glad this was an intimate 13 million dollar movie that is coming from a big studio...it's the best of both worlds IMO

I actually hate horror films, Lol. I'm hoping it's not too....disturbing. I can handle older, tamer "horror" films like 'Rosemary's Baby'. It's a fine line between "horror" and psychological thriller".

So this will have it's world premiere at Venice between 1-9 Sept and saw someone on another forum say that as it's a North American Premiere at TIFF it should premiere the 1st weekend which would mean 9th or 10th. Hope we'll also be getting a LA or NYC premiere the week after too and hopefully Michelle can attend all.

Also, it sounds like the new "full" trailer that is going to be released on August 8th is just basically pretty much the same as the teaser they just released, according to a few people, Lol. Sigh.

Accdg to who?? That's ridiculous. If the full trailer is the trailer we already have, then what is the point of highlighting August 8th? That makes no sense. Not buying it.

People saw it before The Dark Tower and Detroit tonight. Said basically it's a somewhat extended version of the teaser with more of Lawrence walking around with a couple new lines of dialogue and more quick shots including one with a lot of people in a room. They didn't say if Pfeiffer and Harris's names were shown or not but I hope so.
