Yep, some people think it's Bardem, but to me it looks like an alien It is an alien indeed! If you listen to the teaser, toward the end, it sounds like there is noise that could be like a sound a UFO makes, there was also a rumor that they filmed a scene with zombies. This film won't be boring, that's for sure.

So, it's fair to say none of them know what the hell they're talking about? Lol. I wonder if Aronofsky and the studio are asking the festival runners to throw industry "insiders" off the scent, so it will be a surprise when and how they show the film at any of the fests?

Toronto- Special Presentation. Just announced on Twitter. Nice. They list it as a "North American" premiere, so this means it will have it's "World Premiere" before Toronto.....at Venice! Everyone was so wrong. Lol

Sure we'll see Michelle at either or TIFF or Venice (hopefully both) as she will have to do the press junkets and hopefully some chat shows when mother! is released.

Anyone planning to attend TIFF? I know I cant make it. Do we think Mich will be there? Mich is not the main star so maybe she will not bother to go if she's shooting Ant Man But if rumours are accurate, she is the antagonist so she´ll have to be there.

I bet Paramount will be rolling out a new poster soon. I would think they'd need to anyway, the previous one doesn't have the credits or release date or company logos. I hope the trailer comes online this week and is shown with Atomic Blonde in theaters, that's going to make quite a bit of cash and would be good exposure for 'mother!'

This is now being released in UK on September 15th, Yippee!! On July 6 they were still announcing October release dates for this in other countries. Then just, what, two weeks later they change all of them to September? I just don't get it. I'm really starting to think it's not because it's a bad film, but that Aronofsky just wanted it changed closer to the TIFF premiere for whatever reason. This is all so crazy.

Yes - mother! will be shown in competition at Venice this year and every piece I've read calls it a horror film.

When was the last time MP made an appearance there? Was it during the premier of What Lies Beneath (2000)?

When was the last time MP made an appearance there? Was it during the premier of What Lies Beneath (2000)? Yes, I believe so. She's only been twice. For that and Age of Innocence. According to the head of the festival, Paramount did not want to do festivals, they wanted to avoid spoilers being known, so it looks like when they did decide to do festivals, they moved up the release date. He talked in length about the other films but with 'mother!', he said he won't say anything. So much secrecy! He also confirmed Lawrence and Bardem will be yhere but did not mention Pfeiffer. I really hope she will make it.

I think the last time she had official festival portraits/photoshoot done was for Cheri, no??

Trailer Track tweeted that the full trailer for Mother! will be dropping next week, on August 3. That's what I was kinda hoping for...I wanted around a month n a half (if it was possible) of the trailer playing in theaters n online before the movie came out. Glad the teaser phase can finally end!!

I am hoping she just has a small part and will be done with filming Ant-Man (not likely) or they'll give her a week off so she can go. If not, then maybe TIFF, since that's easier to get to.

Hopefully mother!'s inclusion in the Venice lineup will boost its awards chances. Or at the very least, keep the movie in the conversation.
I also find it interesting that Annette Bening will be the head juror of the Venice film festival, given that Michelle suggested in her previous interview that her role was originally offered to Bening.

I didn't even think about Bening being offered the role in mother!, you think that's what she was trying to say? I kind of just read it as a really random name drop.

I thought that's why Michelle brought up Bening's name in the interview. haha. I got the impression that it was offered to Benign first. Aronofsky also made some sort of reassuring comment that it really made sense that they eventually went with Pfeiffer, without knowing the previous Bening-Pfeiffer connection with Batman Returns and Bugsy.

Well that would make a lot of sense. Maybe Bening had to turn it down to film Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool? Jeffrey Wells said this about mother!: Darren Aronofsky’s mother!, allegedly “a darker twist on Rosemary’s Baby” Count me in!
