Even if it doesn't end up being very good, which is kinda highly likely lol, it would be worth it for her to do. Working with him on what would be his final film(?) and the rest of those actors? She has to do it.

Here is a synopsis of this project, which has been in the works for a long time:
The star of this picture is Serge Catalane: a genius architect, controversial icon and lover of debauchery. His goal is to revolutionise the city, overhauling it to become a global and economic icon to the world. In doing so, he kicks ‘Cityworld’ to the curb – a conservative facelift for New York from Mayor Frank Cicero. The battle between two men begins, as Frank becomes determined to destroy Serge and Megalopolis. There are dirty politics, organised crime and evil big businesses that combine to try and take down Megalopolis.

Francis said he is willing to use his own money towards the budget if he has to and hoping to shoot in Fall 2022.
I wonder if we could hear of one of the streamers picking this up now as Netflix and Apple seem the obvious choice and I'm sure they would with that cast involved and if the script is good.

I love that he's still kept this project alive all these years. It would be really interesting to see Michelle work with him if this came to light.

One of the streamers could easily fund this project.
This also shows once again that Pfeiffer is still in demand after all these years and multiple breaks. Love it.

Would be great if it turned in to his final masterpiece. To see Michelle in this sort of ensemble is what we have been waiting for too.

Yea, this could easily find a home at Netflix tbh. I can also see this being his final masterpiece. He's held onto it for so long and it does sound appropriately epic and fitting for a final goodbye to film.

I have tried to find the old rough script but it must have been scrubbed from the net?? There's a lot of reviews of the script though and...I hope he has made changes to it over the years. Sounds a little too ambitious and all over the place. But I still think she should do it lol

A few times over the years, outlets ran with stories how this project was going to happen with stars like Russell Crowe, Robert De Niro, Nicolas Cage, Paul Newman, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Gandolfini, Edie Falco, and Uma Thurman.
So maybe this is just another false start. Or maybe it's indeed happening this time. One thing that makes me think it might happen this time, he's actually talking spending his own money and deadline reported there's ongoing talks about the finances. Also he says he's deep in negotiations with the actors. I'm not sure it got that far with the other actors in the past, it sounded like he just had them read the script and had a wishlist of people he would want.

With a cast of this caliber I'm really excited for this project.
Would also be fun to see Michelle and Jessica together in a project again.

With this sort of cast and what would be Francis's final film you'd think one of the streamers would be biting his hand off to get this.

www.indiewire.com/2021/10/oscar-isaac-interview-the-card-counter-dune-1234672036/He was much happier to address rumors of his potential next moves. While he’s currently set to play Francis Ford Coppola in a behind-the-scenes miniseries about the making of “The Godfather,” the real-life Coppola also made news recently by saying that he was hoping to cast Isaac in the lead role of his decades-in-the-work passion project “Megalopolis.” Isaac confirmed their discussions for “Megalopolis,” which Coppola has said he’d spend as much as $120 million of his own money to finance with an eye towards shooting next fall. “Francis and I have been in conversation about it, and it’s really exciting,” Isaac said. “Obviously, if it gets up and running, how could someone not be a part of that, you know? I certainly have every appendage crossed that it actually comes to fruition, because being on set with him would be out of this world.”

Yea, it's been decades with this project. I first heard about it 13 years ago. It's hard not to adopt a "well, ok, let's see" type of mood about it ha ha

In-depth interview with Coppola in GQ where he discusses and tries to summarize Megalopolis. www.gq.com/story/francis-ford-coppola-50-years-after-the-godfather“It's very simple,” he'll say. “The premise of Megalopolis? Well, it's basically… I would ask you a question, first of all: Do you know much about utopia?” The best I can do, after literally hours talking about it with him, is this: It's a love story that is also a philosophical investigation of the nature of man; it's set in New York, but a New York steeped in echoes of ancient Rome; its scale and ambition are vast enough that Coppola has estimated that it will cost $120 million to make. What he dreams about, he said, is creating something like It's a Wonderful Life—a movie everyone goes to see, once a year, forever. “On New Year's, instead of talking about the fact that you're going to give up carbohydrates, I'd like this one question to be discussed, which is: Is the society we live in the only one available to us? And discuss it.” “It's a love story,” Coppola said, trying again. “A woman is divided between loyalties to two men. But not only two men. Each man comes with a philosophical principle. One is her father who raised her, who taught her Latin on his lap and is devoted to a much more classical view of society, the Marcus Aurelius kind of view. The other one, who is the lover, is the enemy of the father but is dedicated to a much more progressive ‘Let's leap into the future, let's leap over all of this garbage that has contaminated humanity for 10,000 years. Let's find what we really are, which are an enlightened, friendly, joyous species.’ ”

Still not really any further forward in finding out if this project is definitely going to happen. Still no studio has come forward for this yet that we know of.

Not really, according to the article. He says he has all the money for it, but I'm not gonna believe it until it actually starts filming.

Slim pickings but a production manager has been added to IMDb. Same production manager from No Time To Die. Hopefully this means this is still coming to life. We still don't know if Michelle is still involved.

I wouldn't mind this happening, finally. But I'd like to see her take on something this summer that's a little smaller in scope compared to this and Ant-Man.
