I thought Janet Van Dyne would die in this film but is it possible that the Original Avenger becomes Kang's sidekick?
The buzz seems to be positive doesnt it? I know reviews arent out but I am really hopeful that this adds something positive to Michelle's career unlike the previous installment which didnt use her or French Exit/ Where is Kyra which hardly anyone saw. I know she got a golden globe nom and justice really needs to be served to Where is Kyra but neither caused the spark she needs.

I've avoided spoilers so far but guessed this film might be Janet's swan song. We'll know pretty soon.

My press screening for this is tonight!! Never thought this movie would show up, but being a Michelle fan, I’ve mastered the art of patience lol
I’ll let you all know how it is, but gonna be careful cuz the review embargo isn’t up until tomorrow morning. Obviously, I’ll be mindful about spoilers ha ha

I'm not holding my breath for great reviews. Seen some reactions on Twitter saying it's messy. Lots of notices again for Michelle though and Jonathan.

I enjoyed Quantumania! It’s a fun little space adventure/family comedy. The creature designs are hit and miss, but the story is not too convoluted or overwhelming. There could have been more laughs throughout, but it’s an effective, escapist fantasy romp.
Michelle is VERY well-utilized. She’s got some great moments, plenty of scenes where she is front and center. In fact, the majority of her scenes have her being front and center. She’s almost always the focus, the one driving the scene and the story. It really felt like a story between her and Kang, with Scott and the others somewhat forcibly inserted. It’s not a top 10 performance, but it’s a very solid one.

Apart from Michelle and Jonathan, not seeing many comments on Twitter which are actually good.

Yea, I saw a couple of ppl on Twitter saying the plot was hard to follow or confusing, which didn’t make any sense to me. I think one of its flaws is that the story is a bit base. To be honest, only an idiot would be unable to follow it 😂😬
Also, for those who are wondering, Michelle’s screen time is on par with her screen time in Maleficent, which was a relief to me 😅

Thanks for your thoughts. This started with 51 on Metacritic lol. Ant-Man has always been the weakest of the Marvel films but I thought this would be much better since it's kicking off the new phase and all. Glad Michelle and Jonathan are getting good reviews though. Hope they can work together on something else.

Another one for Michelle's catalogue where she gets the best plaudits but the whole project is not up to much.

These movies are also pretty critic proof. Although I’m glad it’s coming out in February instead of July. It doesn’t have the heft necessary for a big summer release

Oh yeah this likely won't impact the box office much, but still wanted it to be good.

I wanted it to be good too but after seeing quite a few reactions on Twitter, the reviews are not really surprising me.
I don't want another Ant Man film for Michelle. Now we have nothing else to look forward to with only the possibility of Wild Four O'Clocks shooting at the end of the year.

Yea, I’m hoping this is her last outing with Ant-Man, especially since I really can’t see them giving her much more to do in the future outside of the Quantum Realm storyline. I also don’t want the only times she acts now be more or less solely for Marvel

Did you guys see Evangeline say she wanted a solo film for her? Maybe a tv show but no way she's getting her own solo movie.

55 on RT now and looks like will probably keep going down and now will most likely be the worst MCU film with critics.

Yea, it scored in the 40s, and rightfully so. It was a pretty dismal and lifeless outing

Deadline is projecting a series best global opening of $280M. Of course, no one knows if the film will have legs after the initial opening. Strangely, I feel this could be the film that exposes the shallowness of the Marvel business model and how that matters more to them than good storytelling, character development, and writing multi-dimensional roles for women. Once again, Pfeiffer walks away with glowing notices and if Hollywood doesn't find a film or series worthy of her, there is no justice in this world. deadline.com/2023/02/box-office-ant-man-and-the-wasp-quantumania-opening-projection-1235259534/

Watched the movie tonight, can't say I like it, but there's lot of Pfeiffer I can guarantee... she had few really cool scenes, however, nothing can be comparable with what she did in Batman Returns of course.

Of course, Janet gets her big role and its the 2nd MCU movie to go Rotten. Makes me want to dust off (pun intended) that fanfic I wrote where she survived Thanos's snap and had a bigger role in Endgame. That movie really seems to have been the apex of Marvel and it's gonna need another No Way Home soon if it wants to stave off fan fatigue...

There's so many mixed opinions on this movie and her performance lol. Some reviews don't even mention her performance at all. I'll see for myself this weekend
