I would love to see Michelle try her hand at a Limited Series Role as this seems to be way a lot of actors are finding the best work. Hopefully she has something lined up after Maleficent.

U know they just announced yesterday Nicole Kidman has another new project they are adapting the Big Little Lies authors new book for Nicole to star in for either a movie or T.V. limited series. It looks like theres lots of other roles perhaps she wants her friend Mich to be in it

I´m sure some of these projects won´t be made and they just love making announcements for the sake of it. I´m going to be honest here. I hate how powerful Kidman and Witherspoon are becoming. There are more talented and likable actresses out there (like our Michelle) who should have the power they have been given.

I think it's all about ambition; and Michelle doesn't have the same ambition as those two. Her "all about the experience" comment makes me think more than ever that she's got no interest in the business beyond the acting side of it, especially since the last two projects she tried to produce didn't go anywhere. But who knows, maybe something will move her SO much, that she won't be able to resist trying to get it made.

I believe Michelle will have her chance to snag meaty lead roles again. She just have to get back out there and audition TOO! Her last few roles besides kyra came to her; combine that with her challenging performance in Kyra and mother, the box office clout of the orient Express. Someone will give her a chance, she just needs to make it known that she wants the part.

Might be best to let them come to her, Lol.

Having powerful women in Hollywood creating roles and great projects for themselves and other women is not a bad thing, though. I'm not really a fan of Witherspoon, but I admire how hard she works to get projects made. I do wonder how different things might have been for Pfeiffer through the 90's and the aughts, had she not shut down her production company.

Actresses who want great roles have to acquire and develop properties for themselves. Waiting around for great roles to land in their laps doesn't cut it anymore. But I can also understand why Michelle doesn't want to get into producing. I recall her saying something about Via Rosa and how she did not like being in the position of hiring and firing people or saying no. I don't think the administrative aspect of the business interests her one iota.
As for Kidman and Witherspoon, they apparently have the drive and the aptitude for getting projects green-lighted and both of them seem sincere in wanting to produce films that feature women in strong leading roles.
That being said, Michelle is definitely back in the acting game and she is on the radar. I would think any number of talented directors / producers would kill to have her in their films.

You would think so! I'm still a bit stunned that her TV project with Katie Couric never got picked up by anyone.

Were HBO not supposed to have got it and it was going to be 10 x 30 min episodes titled Good Morning? Not sure what happened to that show. Remember her Actors video though with SJP and they talked about TV and Michelle didn't seem that impressed with having to work with lots of different directors.
Really hope Michelle manages to find time to do another project this fall.

It must have been really bad since they said if HBO passed, they'd go to Showtime, etc. If all of those places passed....yikes. On another note, Michael Douglas once again has expressed interest in a Hank and Janet project starring himself and Pfeiffer, this time for TV. I hope this doesn't happen. I feel like no one would care. www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-07-27/ant-man-tv-series-spin-off-michael-douglas/

With Maleficent wrapping in the coming months, she should definitely have time for another project. I'm also hoping for a TV miniseries/movie-type project. Wizard of Lies went well enough for her, and I find TV could be a better platform for her to find something heavier and less grandiose.

Whether or not this could possibly take off will depend heavily on what their roles in Avengers 4 will turn out to be, methinks. There's a lot of intrigue now as it is, but it'll have to pay off in a big way if fans are to be invested enough for a TV show, as a start. Maybe brand loyalty can bring in the diehard Marvel fans, but as the constant struggle with Agents of SHIELD shows, the general populace and even casual Marvel movie-watchers will be harder to bring in.

That's a really good point about Agents of Shield, that has horrible ratings. As far as a new project in the fall, if Juan is correct and she will campaign for Kyra, she might not start something until Spring 2019.

I think it'll depend on if she's offered something that pulls her in. She's stated in the past that awards aren't important to her. I could easily see her turning down, or at least minimizing awards campaign duties if she's offered a project that gets her really excited. Of course other factors could come into play such as the size of whatever parts she's offered in the fall and exactly how big the campaign will be and how much work she'll be expected to do for it. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to re-release Kyra with Michelle actually doing publicity for it this time around, along with some scattered industry screenings.

I personally feel like Pfeiffer now cares about recognition more than she did before. Now that she's older, I think she wants awards and stuff before the end of her career. She did campaign for the Emmys for Wizard of Lies. And I know that was HBO and they probably kind of pushed her to do it, but she also did that LA Times Roundtable for mother! She had never done anything like that campaign wise before. Not to mention her PR team having Vanity Fair put out that Oscar buzz article about her performance in mother! before the film came out. I think she's hungry for it and that's not a bad thing, she's had a long career in the industry and should be recognized more often.

I think it'll all comes down to what feels more appealing to her and that's dependent on what she's offered. If nothing she's offered is that interesting, she'll focus solely on campaigning. I don't think she's hungry for it at all (part of me always thought that's she's felt she was above the awards game) so much as she's heavily encouraged to do it by those around her. If she wasn't pushed to do it, I don't think we'd be seeing her at roundtables, etc...being awards hungry feels exactly the opposite of her "all about the experience" comment.

As long as her next project isn't a sequel or remake, I honestly don't mind what she chooses.
Let's face it, she'll only get an oscar if she plays a 'real' person based on a true story, or someone with a disease.

With all the projects Nicole Kidman has on the go - It would be great if she produced The Silent Wife as a starring vehicle for Michelle. I don't see Kidman getting around to this anytime soon. It was due to film in 2016.

She's just a few years younger. That would be very flattering to Greta, Lol. Meanwhile, Laura Dern is joining Greta Gerwig's Little Women, probably as Marmee. I'm guessing Streep suggested her for the role since they worked on BLL together. Oh well.
