Could be a great project. With Julianne Moore it would be awesome.

I think that Michelle would be perfect in Stéphane Audran role (the refugee). It's a powerful role and and a majestic movie (masterpiece). I hope that Payne does a different version. The 1987 one it's superb!!!!

Part of me thinks he will probably say Pfeiffer is still too good looking for one of these roles and doesn't look old enough. I hate to say that but we all know people still think that.

I don't know if there is a part for her in Amazon's "The Expatriates", produced by Kidman and to be directed by Lulu Wang, but it would be nice to see her in this kind of project.

Meryl of course. I just want to know now what is happening with Turn of Mind. I hope this is still happening.
Netflix's Pieces of Her has still not announced any casting yet. Was rumoured to start filming in the Fall but seems to have been delayed.

I hope her managers / agents are spending as much time checking the trades as folks on this board are. Some really viable opportunities out there or so it seems. Let's get another film rolling Q1 2020.

After watching Marriage Story (I really liked it), I'm annoyed they didn't cast Pfeiffer in the Dern role. And I think it's fair to say Pfeiffer would have played it with much more heart and substance than Dern did. I can't believe she's winning so many awards for such an empty, one note performance. Merritt Wever on the other hand was SO GOOD and funny in her tiny part.

I don't understand the Laura Dern love either but Merrit Weaver always delivers IMO.

I get the Dern love. She took my breath away with her last monologue. It changed the way I saw the character and gave her such self-awareness and a bit of a tragic note as well. We’re submitting our first round ballot this week for Austin Film Critics and she’s definitely one of my contenders.
That being said, I woulda loved to see Michelle in the role even if the last time she played a lawyer it wasn’t all that well-received

We'll have to agree to disagree, I just thought there was zero depth. I hope Adam Driver can win the Oscar but it's not looking likely. I thought he was great and I liked Scarlett, too, but it was hard to admit because she's such an idiot in real life, Lol. In other news, I see that Death on the Nile is now in post-production, so Annette Bening is free to star Turn of Mind, hopefully.

Really I hope that screenplay cleans up cuz I thought it was just so well-written. Emotional and hysterical!!
Oooooh that IS good news! Someone said filming on Turn of Mind was going to begin in January, right? Or did I just imagine that? Lol

Dern can play up a brash exterior with inner turmoil quite well. That's why I felt she was a suitable Emmy winner for BLL back in 2017 (even though I believe Michelle gave the better performance and it was BLL's brand that put her over). But in my opinion, Michelle has so much more range and a much bigger screen presence, to the point that I can't really say that I'm "jealous" of these supporting roles Dern has been getting. Not that I wouldn't have liked to see Pfeiffer in them, if only for the exposure, but I'd say she's capable of handling even more.

I'm definitely feeling pangs of Dern role envy on Michelle's behalf. I need to get a life. LOL

Pieces of Her is in the new addition of Production Weekly so I'm assuming this is going ahead soon. Wonder if Bruna has tried to get Michelle for the mother role. Guess we'll soon find out.

There is a role for a 60 year old actress in Damien Chazelle's next film with Brad Pitt and Emma Stone. Described as "eccentric". I doubt many directors see her a a fit for that kind of role but she would be great and I hope she's at least considered.

Oh that would be great if she were offered a role in that project, or at least considered for it. Chazelle is such a great writer and director (tho he's better when directing his own scripts), that'd be such a dream!!

If Turn of Mind isn't going ahead then I hope she has something else lined up. Really not fussed for her doing Ant Man 3 if she isn't going to be given a decent amount of screen time.

Toni Collette got the mother role in Netflix's Pieces of Her.
Thought they might of gone older for the Mother role as the daughter is 30 and Toni is only 47.
