Johnny Depp seems off his face. Either that or is filled with anxiety.

Johnny Depp seems off his face. Either that or is filled with anxiety. Plastic. A midlife crisis makes some men do things they shouldn't. There was a review in the Times UK, but was taken down, still embargoed. Not good. The review was not kind.

British GQ Pfeiffer is particularly great in a role previously played by Lauren Bacall, and her performance seems to nod in that direction: Pfeiffer burning up the screen, with glamour to spare – coupled with her turn in Darren Aronofsky’s Mother!, 2017 seems to have heralded a comeback, and Branagh gets the best from her. www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/murder-on-the-orient-express-review

3 stars from Empire which also gives a small shout-out to Michelle.
Think it's safe to say this film will be ok, not great and not terrible.

Michelle's dress at the premiere was by Prada.

Michelle's dress at the premiere was by Prada. I liked it and the color, but it also looked kind of cheap in some way, if that makes any sense....surprised it was Prada!

The Guardian said she is "Delightfully complex". These reviews for the most part are not nearly as bad as I expected.

This is good news n kinda makes sense. I had a feeling it would be a quality role given Jolie’s initial interest in it.

There is one with Branagh looking at Pfeiffer's...area, Lol. I love the one of Pfeiffer and Willem Dafoe and of course the Pfeiffer/Cruz embracing photos.

By the way, Fox is opening this on 3,300 screens in America. That's A LOT!

Just got home from screening , it's an ok film, Pfeiffer is good in the 10 mins she's on screen. The song at the end is lovely though. Great actors but kinda misplaced , misused talent here.

I don´t think your screen-time calculations are accurate. She cannot be only 10 minutes on screen, especially, when she´s been called the star of the film. I guess not even Johnny Depp in his cameo is 10 minutes on screen.

I don't see her signing onto a role that is only equal to 10 minutes of screen time. Even if a role of hers was cut down to that length, I don't seeing her going to the hassle of traveling to all the way to London in order to promote it LOL

10 minutes does seem too low, but I'm terrible at figuring out screen time, so I'm not going to judge anyone in that regard. I haven't read all of the reviews, so not sure if any critics have mentioned screen time. I saw one person who saw it and the only person they said was "wasted" in terms of screen time and character was Dench.

Well I’m not n u can believe I’ll be coming out of my Tuesday press screening with a hard number in regards to screen time which I will surely be sharing w everyone here who, like me, r eager to know LOL

Other than Pfeiffer doing the Today show, it looks like Josh Gad and Branagh might be the only ones doing U.S. late night talk shows next week to promote the film. Fallon is booked, but still holding out hope for her to do Colbert. There are still two open days for his show next week. Should be announced soon.

I love the silver metallic retro style gown she wore at the London premiere, but it places second to the gold / black number she wore at the Venice premiere of mother! in my opinion. Still, both looks were ravishing and she really owned the red carpet on both occasions. Her skin just glows.
The reviews are a bit less than I was hoping for, but I still look forward to seeing her in this role and with this cast. Just happy she is getting uniformly good notices for her work. This can only lead to better offers in the future - we hope.
A great time to be a pfeiffer-phile. I am 'drunk' with excitement right now. LOL

Bought her song on itunes this morning. So beautiful. The lyrics are incredibly soulful. She really sounds the best on the verses. The chorus seems a bit out of her range; perhaps cuz she's not a full-time singer, but it still works IMO!!

Her voice is small yet perfect for this song because she's singing to one person. I like her voice on the chorus - she manages the key change beautifully IMO. Sure, those notes are at the top of her range but she was wise not to push or strain her voice to hit them. She caresses them. This is a far better rendition than someone who would try to belt it to the rafters. Proud of her.

There's an honesty there n I recognize n love the way she approaches it as an actress. I'm finding myself loving it more and more as a whole w each listen. I don't think it would have felt as genuine had someone like Celine or Streisand sung it.

I love the arrangement too. Just a piano and a few strings and it builds slowly w/out overpowering her vocal.
KB was wise to ask her to sing this. It reminds me of her vocal on My Funny Valentine in the way she wrings all of the emotion out of the lyrics in a quiet, intimate way. So glad she accepted the challenge.
