I just saw a pic of Daisy w Penelope on Instagram - was dated yesterday, so they may still be filming. Not sure.
No pics of Michelle yet, or least none that I can find, but a few of Daisy, Penelope and one of Dame Judi.
Hope this remake delivers something unexpected.

I just watched the 1975 version last night and I was bored out of my mind. How Bergman won the Oscar for that is mind-boggling. I'm sure this remake will be more suspenseful and interesting, or at least i hope so.

Someone tweeted that they were on the same flight to L.A. as Michelle so filming must have wrapped, or at least her scenes have...
Also, I do think that the new version will be more exciting and suspenseful since Branagh is directing n his films usually have some kind of flair to them

Saw this in an article in The Hollywood Reporter. Thought it was an interesting little tidbit regarding why Angelina Jolie left the project and freed up the role for Michelle.
"But there are signs that Jolie is no longer a negotiate-at-all-costs star to the studios. In August, Fox chairman Stacey Snider pulled the plug on the actress’ involvement with Murder on the Orient Express after months of to-and-fro over her script notes. “Stacey said, ‘Thanks, but we’re moving on,’ ” says a source."

I saw that too. Textbook case of self-importance overtaking talent IMO. Not knocking Jolie - she is a very good actress and a mostly competent director (By The Sea, not withstanding), but she makes the characters she plays come to her, she doesn't go to them IMO.

Josh Gad last day filming today so looks like filming is wrapping up. Michelle must of finished filming at the weekend. A lot of the cast went along to support Josh at the Beauty and the Beast screening last night.

Hello people ! I like so much the Sidney Lumet version !!! Ingrid Bergman was great, great in that unconventional role. This film will be very good, too, because the story it's great. Michelle is so much better actress than Angelina.

Tom Bateman is one of InStyle's 2017 rising stars and gave a brief mention of MOTOE
You’ve come straight to tonight’s party from the set of Murder On The Orient Express. What’s it like?
Stunning! Before Christmas we were filming on a 70ft high mountain range. All the action takes place on and around the train. My character Bouc owns the train and is Poirot’s best friend. I help him in solving the case.
You’re working with some pretty impressive co-stars?
It’s like Hollywood royalty. We’ve got like Derek Jacobi, Judi Dench, Olivia Colman, and then there’s Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley and Penelope Cruz too. So it’s basically everyone! I had to do a scene which was a speech in front of the whole cast and I said ‘this is like being at the at Oscars.’

Josh Gad was at Dear Evan Hansen last night. He sat three rows away from me and I didn't even think to ask him about working with Michelle. What is wrong with me???

I know!! I'm praying someone leaks it LOL
Can't believe they're this far into post production that they've already got a trailer cut. They just finished shooting last month. But doesn't matter...wanna see it ASAP!!

I hate it when studios shift release dates around to protect quarterly earnings forecasts and appease their shareholders. I understand it's a business but for a film like this, the day before Thanksgiving is the perfect release date with the four day holiday to boost the box-office take. At least with the November 10 date, they have Veterans's Day holiday weekend, which will help and the other Nov. 10 releases are targeted at different demographics. That being said, the move is not doing the film any favors at the box-office IMO.

I think this movie is going to be a somewhat tricky sell no matter the release date. I mean, I love Christie and the original, as well as other adaptations of her novels. I also really love Branagh as both an actor and a director, so this is right up my alley. But I'm not sure how modern audiences will respond to a film like this.

Valid points but the Baby Boomers will carry this one over the finish line. Just look at the recent Going In Style remake, which was a terrible movie, but according to THR, more than 70% of the opening weekend audience was over the age of 50. That helped a bad movie exceed the box-office forecast of $8,0M by $4.5M for an opening weekend tally of $12.5M. It also held better than anyone expected in its second weekend of wide release. Even with millennial skewing stars like Daisy Ridley and Josh Gad, I think the real target audience for this film are those who love Agatha Christie. They are probably more inclined to buy a ticket based on that along with the marque lure / stature of Depp, Pfeiffer, Cruz, Branagh and Dench.

All these strategic releases are nonsens imo. When a movie is really good it doesn't matter when it is released don't you think?

Michaelh- I hope you're right...n honestly, in this current landscape of moviemaking, I NEVER thought a project such as this would ever get made by a major studio on this lavish of a scale, so for me, that's it's own victory, the fact that it exists. But huge box office would be nice too...lol
Johnjohn- It should. But a good movie will sometimes be skipped over if there are other similar or high profile releases coming out at the same time that might distract audiences from discovering it.

I agree that it's a minor miracle that this film got green lighted if the budget is as steep as it sounds. The marketing strategy will be very important to its success and critical reaction will play a huge part too. It will need to stand on its own or improve upon the 1974 version by Sidney Lumet to overcome what some think is a dated, old fashioned concept. I'm hoping Branagh brought his A game this time out.

Oh totally the marketing will be key. I have a feeling after reading the description of the plot on imdb that the studio will try to emphasize the thriller aspects more that the whodunit factor...but we'll see.
