I'm trying to recall the 90s (?) awarding event where MP, upon receiving her award, commented on the lack of good roles for women and lightly mocked the roles she and her fellow actress nominees were in the running for. Can anyone help me out with this one?

I like what she had to say about it. In fact the interview she gives really shows how intelligent she is

THANKS!! I tried a ton of search word combos but this answer seems to have gotten buried with recent coverage. Appreciate the help.

Agreed she was ahead of the times. On the "got crap comment" did she? Could you share anything you remember about that? I'm guessing biting remarks were all she got and not blackballing since she worked steadily afterwards.

Mm my words maybe were to extreme, it seemed like lots of people didnt like her comments or like it made them uncomfortable like when Meryl was asked about it she paused a long time then said like "Well Good for her" or something. Anyways I know Julia Roberts hated her comments about Pretty Women like she took it personally or something

He asks Roberts about Pfeiffer's comments and she gave a pretty cold answer, you could for sure tell she wasn't happy, but it's obvious Pfeiffer wasn't taking a shot at her, just the kinds of roles Hollywood was churning out for women.

I'm honestly not surprised by the reaction of the two actresses mentioned. Disappointed, but not surprised Makes what MP did twice admirable.
