This is why I no longer read every comment or review. This is also partly why IMDB took the message boards down. Trolls were killing films before they were released. Many of the naysayers hadn't even seen the film and were simply promoting their own agendas. Back to the accent though. It goes back to my previous comment about lazy writing. Critics and viewers who complain about her accent haven't bothered to listen to Ruth on video. It's maddening but I don't think it will sway Emmy voters.

Hope this really happens, I'm also a fans of AHS, but Roanoke is so bad, it's the worst of all seasons.

It looks like Shailene Woodley submitted in Lead Actress after all, so one less competitor for Pfeiffer. I haven't watched the last couple of AHS seasons, the only thing I ever liked about the show was the performances, but something tells me only paulson or Bates will get nominated, not both, that show has kind of jumped the shark.

I still have not seen the movie (poor me), but I have downloaded it already last week.
I do think she will get nominated for this. It's hard to imagine voters nominating the movie and de Niro, but leaving Pfeiffer out. The less probable scenario is her winning based on the reviews. The reviews for her were mostly great, but they weren't as effusive as the raves she got for Where is Kyra. That 's the most acclaimed performance she's received since White Oleander. I was kinda hoping for that same level of acclaim for Wizard of Lies. But the reviews have been good enough to warrant a nomination. So I would be really shocked if she doesn't get nominated for this.

I do think she has a good shot at a nomination, but I'm not getting my hopes up, only because I remember that shitty feeling of waking up early on Oscar nominations morning in 2003, expecting to hear her named called for White Oleander, and then....Queen Latifah happened. That sucked! Lol. She's still getting very good industry support on Twitter. The supervising producer of Westworld called Pfeiffer "brilliant" in Wizard of Lies.

Possible spoilers (for those who haven't seen the movie) Ok, so I just saw the Wizard of Lies. Good movie, very good cast, especially Robert De Niro and Alessandro Nivola as the older son. Don't understand all the talk about Hank Azaria, I mean I think he's good, just not that good. And even though I do think Michelle performance in the movie is overall good, it's just not a very meaty role. I would have liked to see more of her, to have more close-ups (which I think are crucial to connect with characters), especially in the scene where she gets the call about her older son. But maybe that's just me

I totally agree w u bout the scene where Ruth finds out bout Mark's suicide...seeing her reaction woulda been such a powerful moment!!

Not all that flattering of Michelle, but a cover has been released for the ''Actors on Actors'' thing.

Well, after the Interview cover and now this one ... Michelle is due for a fabulous cover shot. Aww, I thought the Interview magazine cover and photoshoot were stunning!! This one, I can live w cuz honestly the worst for me is still the one she did for Ladies Home Journal back in 2013 for The Family...just looked so weird!!

I liked the Interview inside photos much better than the cover shot of her sitting on the floor. The cover shot they choose did not have the wow factor IMO.

Totally agree, Ladies Home Journal back in 2013 is a horrible one! And they made her looks like, 20 years older......and dress her like some grandmum style.

Oh, I know!! Tho I would've loved for an August/September release so that I could savor it and any special features before her other films start to come out...I guess they wanna wait until after the Emmy's in case the film wins awards that they can put on the cover

"There are no special features listed on the current press release." But surely they'll include interviews with the cast/behind the scenes - right? And maybe, hopefully some deleted scenes as well ...
