Married to the Mob, Batman Returns, Age of Innocence, WLB, A Thousand Acres, White Oleander, Stardust, mother!, Kyra and I'd make a DVD of just her scenes from Wizard of Lies.

It was hard to leave off Baker Boys from my ten, but she's been in a lot of really good films. I feel her filmography is just as underrated as she is.

It's interesting that most people included What Lies Beneath. I single that performance out from other great performances because it showed that she was not only a great actress, but also a movie star who could carry a film effortlessly. She had done this before, of course, in films like Love Field, but in WLB she was the driving force that held the film together - opposite no less than Harrison Ford who rarely if ever conceded center stage to anyone. And she acted him off the screen. I remember seeing it and thinking she could have given Davis, Crawford and Stanwyck serious competition back in the day. A true movie star performance, if there ever was one IMO.

At that point, I was an admirer but not a fan after enjoying her work in Liaisons, Mob, and Eastwick. I wasn't gobsmacked until that camera starting circling her on top of that piano in Baker Boys. It was then that I surrendered completely to her acting chops, charisma and gorgeousness.

Meryl Streep would have been in the Oscar conversation for that role, and NOT because she would have given a better performance, but because of her name and the perception she is the greatest actress alive.

At one point yes she is very underrated but one of the reasons for that is her film choices. Her characters are some time much better than the films. Baker boys is like overall the best thing shes done. I wouldn't have left it off!

Every time I watch The Fabulous Baker Boys, I always end up watching Married to the Mob and Love Field within a few days.
In addition to those three, One Fine Day, What Lies Beneath, Dangerous Minds, Oleander, Cheri, and Frankie and Johnny are my most watched films in her filmography.
I used to hate I am Sam, but I have grown to like that film.
And I have a weird affinity for Deep End of the Ocean and Up Close and Personal, even though they're kinda horrible.
I have only seen Scarface once, rarely watched Batman Returns, and never seen Grease 2 and Ladyhawke. hehe.

Batman Returns and Grease 2 are probably the 2 films of Michelle's that I have seen the most. I was obsessed with Michelle's Catwoman when I was younger and Grease 2 came out the year I was born.
Batman Returns, Grease 2, What Lies Beneath, One Fine Day, Dangerous Minds are the films I have seen the most and have lost count how many times I've seen them. Scarface I have only seen a handful of times and is a film I am not that bothered about.

I haven't watched I Am Sam in a long time, so I should give that another go. I always found it odd that Ebert thought she gave an incredible performance in that film, I thought she was just okay.

My indifference with Scarface is more on her short screen time and the long running time of the movie. I have no problem with the violence and the grossness of the movie. I actually like gangster movies.

I am really surprised (and saddened) by the lack of Baker Boys mention here. hehe. I always watch it before or after my birthday. It's one of my all-time favorite movies ever.

I just watched The Prince of Egypt again and it's really a great film. I'm not a huge fan of animated films but this is really beautiful and watchable and the Dworsky-Pfeiffer version of When You Believe is a million times better than Mariah-Whitney's. Though, I will say, it's kind of crappy they had all white film stars do the voices for these characters.

The Fabulous Baker Boys Into The Night Frankie & Johnny Batman Return What Lies Beneath Married to the Mob The Russia House Grease 2 Scarface The Age of Innocence ... by which point an audience would wish to see more, so I'd throw two as a bonus: White Oleander Murder on the Orient Express
