The film certainly had more legs than most imagined on the opening weekend.
It will breakeven and make a small/decent profit theatrically. I think it will also have strong home media sales and high streaming interest on Disney+. Basically, had Disney been smarter and kept the production budget down, they could have had a sizeable hit with this one.
While 'Maleficent 3' is dead in the water, this was still a worthwhile production (and the better movie), one I think the company will be happy with.

Maleficent got an Oscar nomination for Makeup and Hairstyling. It really deserved one for Costume Design more than Makeup.
