We could build a nice collection of scenes in this thread. Good idea? There are so many but I think this my all time pfavourite, a really heartbreaking scene. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ODVyWqW4ps

I didn´t find the clip for the scene, but I love the scene when Ingrid M. meets Claire in White Oleander. Wow! She´s mesmerizing there. So intense, so natural, so raw, so poisonous, so powerful, so evil. Such a magnificent performance! That one and this one: People like meI know some people think it´s cringe-worthy, but Gosh! I love it. She makes me cry everytime I see it.

My favorite might just be the scenes at The Inn, in Stardust. Pfeiffer was fantastic. I loved the part where she is slowly approaching Danes and Cox with green flames surrounding them.

Yes to all of the above with a special nod to her Selina Kyle / Catwoman transformation in Batman Returns. An unforgettable scene IMO. Here are two of my personal favorites. Each clip shows that she can play comedy and drama equally well because she is so honest. I love how Michelle can modulate the emotion in her performances. She brings out the tears slowly and in step with the information her character is revealing. She has the technical aspects down yet in these scenes she feels totally in the moment and in a state of being. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ge3zGbV2qCwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=tlED1nixee8

Oh yes, I forgot about this film. She really was brilliant in it. A very physical performance. She's so damn underrated.

I liked it when she did the orgasm in 'when harry met Sally, but she's recently gone on to ruin her face, she used to be so pretty. She looks totally different nowadays specially in MOTOE what happened ?...

Watching these clips you guys sharing here brought back so much memory to me, and it suddenly reminded me the real reason of why I fell in love with Michelle and her films in first place, apart from her talent and beauty - I found there's so much sadness in the roles she played, there are some really fragile, vulnerable characters yet they are always fighting to survive. As a sad, lonely kids I really feel connected with these roles and performances. For my Pfavourite Scenes, I love every single scene of her in LOVE FIELD, that's my favourite movie of her... before I change my mind for WHERE IS KYRA? And here are some of my beloved scenes from several Pmovies: The opening of The Russia HouseFinal scene of White Oleander - Bravo! Final scene of Cheri - so sentimental! Wolf - when Michelle entered the hotel and Jack knocked up himself/ and the scene in teaser trailer where she lay down with Jack - I consider Michelle at her most beautiful here in Wolf among all her movies. I'm Afraid scene of Frankie & Johnny May be I'm Dreaming, when Michelle first appears in Ladyhawke - that few second...woah!

This thread makes me crave a weekend marathon of watching her films. Although I’m obviously a huge fan, I had forgotten how great she was in so many films. Haven’t seen Ladyhawke, Frankie & Johnny, Love Field or Russia House (another overlooked performance) in a long, long time. Think I will jump start my neglected Netflix DVD/BR account and order as many of these as I can find.

THIS scene is just beyond amazing. It never fails to blow me away no matter how many times I see it (which is ALOT, trust me). Catwoman will never be bettered and I'm a huge Batman fan in general who can appreciate all interpretations. 'Iconic' is thrown around alot, but she truly was iconic in this role.

In my opinion, this performance cracks the top 5 greatest in the superhero genre, and is by far, the best by a female (and I watch a lot of superhero stuff). The sultriness, the vulnerability, and the catlike mannerisms, it's no wonder a lot of boys and men called her their "sexual awakening". Here's my pfavorite. She and Keaton bring the film's theme full-force and it's absolutely mesmerizing. These are the kinds of scenes and performances that define the superhero genre.

This is what a great actor can do in a cartoon universe. Michelle created a tormented heroic figure who was still relatable on a human level. Pity the Academy was too timid to nominate her for this performance instead of Love Field.

Just think, if Burton had gotten his way and Pfeiffer played Vicki Vale in the first Batman, then she wouldn't have been able to play Catwoman. And if Bening never got pregnant, too. Funny how things work out. She was so good and it boggles my mind that some people still say she wasn't a good Catwoman.

There aren't really criticizing her performance though (even if they think they are). What they are actually complaining about is the characterization and the apparent lack of fidelity to the source material. Both of which are not her fault... I would say on the whole however, both Julie Newmar and Michelle are the most recognisiable and praised Catwomen and people remember Pfeiffer in particular very fondly.

The revelation scene from Frankie & Johnny gets me every time, I feel for her character, all the pain and sorrow, understanding why she is guarded and suspicious... although Pacino's Johnny does really come across as obnoxious and smothering her, pushing her way too much - anyway, she is absolute ACE in this movie, a pleasure to see her depth of character, she is always convincing no matter who she portrays:

We know what kind of character this lady is going to be from her fabulous (!) entrance in The Fabulous Baker Boys - love Susie Diamond for ever:
