There was an article saying she was expected at Venice. Would be funny if she made Venice but not Toronto but I suppose it all depends on her filming requirements. I'd say at the very least she would be at the NYC premiere.

I can see her being at the NYC premiere cuz it wouldn't require her to do a press conference, whereas Toronto might...

I wonder what this means for junket interviews...ugh, why couldn't they film this in Canada like every other production?! LOL I completely get her not being able to go to Venice, that's far, but it is only a two-hour flight from Atlanta to Toronto, only a two-hour flight from Atlanta to New York. That's extremely doable. A small, delusional part of me thinks maybe someone at the festival messed up and left her name off by mistake, Lol, or maybe she just has not confirmed yet. But I know better. Oh, well. Here is the TIFF guest list, I forgot to include the link earlier: www.tiff.net/the-review/guess-whos-coming-to-tiff-17/So many people on that list (including Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, as always...) and no Michelle... By the way Mother! will be presented at the Deauville American Film Festival in France in september www.festival-deauville.com/pid9/film-2308/mother

Hello there!
I'm a Jennifer Lawrence fan here and I usually lurk. After I saw the full list of the attendees at TIFF I was so disappointed that Pfeiffer is not gonna attend. She's a favorite of mine and I was hoping she'd show up for most of the events related to mother!, especially that her role looks interesting and it seems that she gave it her all according to the footage we saw so far.
I sucks that Ant Man will likely prevent her from being present in premieres or screenings that are actually important, I hate it when this happens to these actors when they contractually obligated to these giant franchises or whatever... But anyway, here is hope she will be able to attend the NYC premiere. I can't wait to see the movie and I hope we will eventually enjoy it.

Welcome 😉 I was looking forward to Lawrence and Pfeiffer fawning over each other and goofing around. Maybe she'll surprise us and show up. Lawrence looks superb in the footage so far. I bet this will be her best performance to date, by far.

From the TIFF website, I believe (I'll put it in spoilers for those who don't want to know more before seeing the film): {SPOILER! CLICK ME IF YOU DARE!}Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer star in Darren Aronofsky’s highly anticipated psychological thriller about a couple threatened by the arrival of univited guests to their tranquil home.
A young, pregnant woman (Jennifer Lawrence) busies herself in a vast, unfamiliar house, trying to renovate it into submission. Her new, older husband (Javier Bardem) is a brilliant author, acclaimed all over the world for his insight into humanity and his mastery of language. They love each other deeply, so why are their days so fraught with tension? Why do small misunderstandings seem to pile up? Why do these newlyweds on the verge of welcoming new life into the world seem about to tear each other apart?
Darren Aronofsky begins mother! in the unnerving tradition of Roman Polanski’s Apartment Trilogy. His camera chases his characters, capturing glimpses of her fear or his aloofness just as they try to profess undying love for one another. This relationship is clearly teetering on a knife’s edge. And then guests show up.
Anxious and vulnerable, she just wants to be alone with her husband as they prepare for the baby. Why does he welcome strangers into their house? How can he be so oblivious to what she needs? Seen from a distance, this might look like a small domestic conflict, easily resolved. But as we’re plunged into the heart of this fracturing relationship, the conflict takes on far bigger implications. Then it escalates. And escalates.
Fans of Aronofsky’s Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream will know he can wind dramatic intensity up to shattering effect. But this is new territory, even for him. Dazzling, shocking, and strangely satisfying, mother! is what movies were made for.
The Toronto press conference is September 10th.

That "you give and you give and you give" line makes me hopeful that Pfeiffer's role is not just one-dimensional with bitchy stares. Just under two weeks until Venice reactions!

The Toronto press conference is September 10th. The conference and premiere is on a Sunday and they wont let her go?? do they even shoot movies on Sundays? this is crap. It could simply be that Pfeiffer herself is choosing not to go. She might not want to get out of a rhythm she has while filming a role. We just don't know. I hope she ends up going and it sucks she cannot go to all of these events, but it is what it is.

Just got the email bout the press screening for IT...the one for mother! should hopefully be on its way!! I dunno what will make me more upset: if they don't screen the film for critics, or if they hold the press screening that wednesday on the week of release...cuz I have a concert to go to that night LOL

This reminds me a little bit of People Like Us...she attended the premiere at the L.A. Film Fest, didn't attend the New York screening put on by The Cinema Society, but did do New York press. Project-wise, she wasn't yet filming, but was bout to depart in order to START filming The Family...I dunno, whatever. I'm just spitballing here ha ha

I don't know about anyone else but I am ready to see the movie. Enough with the speculation, the rumors, the worry about whether she will or won't appear on the red carpet.
Let's get on with the show, shall we?
This could be the first movie I've ever seen on the Thursday night before the official opening.

I don't seem to have luck w seeing her movies on the Thursday showings...at least for the last three In The Family, there were a couple of drunk guys who snuck in beers n were loud n obnoxious all the way through...one kept shouting WTF every time a character did something outrageous In Dark Shadows I got hit w the beginnings of a fever bug right before the movie started n had to guess whenever she would be off screen to go to the bathroom In People Like Us, nothing much happened, cept that it was a midnight Thursday screening n I almost didn't make cuz there was a bad car accident on the way to the theater LOL fingers crossed the press screening (if I get to go to it) is gloriously uneventful

Mother (JENNIFER LAWRENCE) and Him (JAVIER BARDEM) live in a seemingly idyllic existence in a secluded paradise. But the couple’s relationship is tested when man (ED HARRIS) and woman (MICHELLE PFEIFFER) arrive at their home uninvited. Answering that knock disrupts their tranquil existence and as more and more guests arrive, mother is forced to revisit everything she knows about love, devotion and sacrifice.
From the production note of mother!

Does anyone recall that one of the working titles was Day Six?
This production note from Bond sounds Biblical to me. Obviously, just like the original log line, it is deliberately vague to keep people guessing, but it makes me wonder if the film is an Adam and Eve fall from grace allegory - hoping not. The end credits will be interesting if Michelle is billed as "Woman."
Well, here I go, speculating again - need to shut that down and just wait for the film.

I wish they would have cut the clip after she go to ask..."Is it him?" I'm guessing that's her next line in the scene. I love the way her character 's diff sides r shown here in such a great, subtle, yet powerful way
