Very nice casting. I wonder how big her role is? And they are already filming? Interesting. I'm just guessing Pfeiffer's role is probably not that big?

Not sure...I don't know much of the Ant-Man story tbh, though it has been my favorite Marvel film thus far. I still trust in Pfeiffer and the fact that she doesn't take on a character that she feels isn't worth her time or doesn't give her something interesting or worthwhile to do. I'm hopeful n happy!!

just read they just started filming recently. hoping she wont have to miss the Emmys or festivals her movies go to I never mind her missing stuff as long as it's cuz she's filming something. I'm sure she can take a night out for the Emmy's and she'll for sure be done with filming in time to promote Murder on the Orient Express in November. As far as Mother! n Where is Kyra? go, who knows?? Although who knows anything bout those movies these days...?? LOL I'm just excited!! End results aside, Michelle has continuously been a part of the big screen versions of some of my fave pop culture properties for the last 10 years!! Stardust (fave Gaiman novel), Dark Shadows (one of my fave classic shows), Murder on the Orient Express (my 2nd fave Christie novel) and now Ant-Man and the Wasp (fave Marvel movie/character)!! *sigh* she just gets me LOL

It will be so great to see her on screen near Paul Rudd again and near Michael Douglas for the first time after so many projects that were never made ! Really I am happy!!!

time.com/4869638/michelle-pfeiffer-laurence-fishburne-ant-man-wasp-sequel/someone pls leak this video!!! Marvel kicked off its panel at San Diego Comic-Con with a video of Paul Rudd and Michael Pena from next summer's upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp. The duo explained the entire Marvel universe to Michelle Pfeiffer, who is going to join the film as Janet Van Dyne. After they get their way through explaining all the Avengers — from Iron Man to Thor —Pfeiffer replies. "Sounds like a sausage fest." "It is," replies Evangeline Lilly, who plays the Wasp — the first female superhero movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get her name in the title of a film. "I'm so glad you're here." "I wanted to ask you," Pfeiffer says. "When I played Catwoman they didn't leave a place for me to go to the bathroom in the costume."

Oh yesssssss Michelle with Paul Rudd again is the most exciting part for me. I never watched the first Ant-Man. Any good? Yes the first Ant Man was good and really fun, thanks to Rudd and Michael Peña. I wasn't excited before seeing it but I liked it. It will be fun to see Michelle doing some action!

Great news. I imagine Paul Rudd was a big factor for Michelle doing this as they seemed to get on very well doing ICNBYW.

Between May 2017 and July 2018, we will have gotten 5 new Pfeiffer films...love it!! Also, how great is it that at almost 60 years old, she's being asked to play a superhero?!

My childhood Batman and Catwoman are now both in the MCU. I'd love it if they could bump into each other on screen some day.
Honestly, I didn't see the first ANT-MAN and no absolutely nothing about this Janet Van Dyne character, but it seems to be a fun part and she'll get to interact with Paul Rudd again.
I'm a DC/Batman guy in my heart so it'll be weird to see her cross over... but I'm just glad she is working.

just read they just started filming recently. hoping she wont have to miss the Emmys or festivals her movies go to This is a good point/question. It seems they started filming July 6 or 7. The first Ant-Man took a little over 3 months to film. It really depends on the size of her role in this, I can't imagine it being that big. Emmys are September 17. mother! comes out September 15, if it goes to festivals: Toronto is September Sep 7, 2017 – Sep 17, 2017, Telluride is Aug 30, 2017 – Sep 4, 2017, Venice is Aug 30, 2017 – Sep 9, 2017. Even if it doesn't do festivals, they're going to have a press tour , etc. in early September I would think. I would hate to have her miss out on all of these events, too. I want to see her walk red carpets and do interviews with Lawrence, Bardem, Aronofsky and do more talk shows as well. I'm sure she and her agent took this into consideration when they signed the contract and the plus side is, this is a big budget thing so it would be more likely for them to let her have some days off to go to these things, they can afford it. Or maybe she signed on because she knew mother! and Kyra would not be getting into any festivals? Hope not. Can't wait to see Pfeiffer on a big IMAX screen!

Good point, this is the first time I can recall her being in something that plays in Imax...yea, I'm sure they can accommodate her schedule when it comes to promoting other movies. When she did Dark Shadows and The Family I remember they gave her a week off every two or three weeks. It was probably harder to do so on Murder on the Orient Express cuz that movie had a number of lengthy ensemble scenes, which is probably why she skipped Sundance.

Loving the positive reactions on social media and the trades.
Paul Rudd attended his 30th high school reunion last night in the KC metro area. He told a friend of mine, a former classmate, that he starts filming tomorrow.
They can easily complete all of Michelle's scenes before September or she can go back and forth if necessary. I can't imagine she will be in the entire movie.
Now, I want to see the sizzle reel that Rudd and Pena recorded with Michelle in it. From what I understand, the camera pulls back toward the end and reveals her as the person they are telling the story to. Does anyone know if ComicCon puts these up on YT?
Exciting times!

If I were your friend, I would have kidnapped Paul Rudd the second I saw him. So good for them for showing restraint! As for the video, I have looked far and wide and don't see it anywhere. In 2017 you would think it would have leaked right away.

Ohh, this role can do great things for her ! I think it's not a tiny role. She is listd four or five at the cast. Now, I can see her like, in terms of getting roles, like Julianne Moore, Meryl Streep or Annete Benning !

It's definitely a significant n important part of the Ant-Man history n the character herself seems to have lasted throughout the comic's many incarnations.

So so happy for this! Now she has a new movie in 2018. She can still film something else at the end of the year for the 2018 oscar race!
Emmy nomination, 5 movies in one year and a half, maybe a Oscar nomination for "Mother!" and a Marvel movie!
What a GREAT comeback!

I also love the fact that she's doing all sorts of genres; a drama (Where is Kyra?), a crime drama (Wizard of Lies), a murder mystery (Murder on the ...), a thriller/horror movie (Mother!) and now a super hero movie (Ant-Man and the Wasp). It really reminds me of her career in the late eighties when she was taking part in really different projects like Dangerous Liaisons, Witches of Eastwick, Married to the Mob, The Fabulous Baker Boys etc. Which in my opinion was a much more fun period than the movies she did in the late nineties.

Yes - spot on comment there - you are so right - I am loving the variety of roles and genres and it reminds of her best work during the late '80s and early 90's - I am so glad she is past the mommie phase and taking chances with meatier roles. Well said.

I watched yesterday's and they talked about it. They all seem to love the casting. It was funny that one of the ladies talked about how the first Ant-Man was so good and she loved it, then she said Evangeline Lilly is going to be in the sequel and was wondering if that was new news or was known before and the other lady pointed out she was already in the first one. You could tell the first lady was lying about seeing the first movie and had no idea what she was talking about...awkward. Lol.

I agree...this is such a good time to be a Pfeiffer-phile. I honestly never would have imagined she would have this kind of career resurgence after such long breaks. I also am gonna love not having to correct ppl when they ask: "She's still making movies??" I've got very little to wish for from her or ask of her at the moment. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this next year LOL
